Club Fly-out to Stephenville

The club voted to fly out for our August event. We will fly-out this month to Stephenville. We are planning to depart Propwash around 10:00am Saturday the 14th for a meeting and lunch at the Hard 8 BBQ restaurant at noon.
I am not 100% sure I can even make it, but if anyone might have an empty seat, I would pay for round trip fuel to get a “discovery flight”. Jeff indicated to post any empty seats on your website, but I am not sure where to look. Any interest can email me.

I should be able to make it.. My mom and step dad live at propwash and I talk to Phil alot so he told me to come along to one of the meetings because I am interested in ultralights. The only problem is I might not have a ride there and back.. Do you know if there are any other memebers going that might be able to fly me there and back? Please e-mail me for your reply.
There are a few 2-place airplanes in the club. It will be a question of who is going and if they are already bringing a passenger.
There will likely be people driving out as well. Usually we can setup a ride situation.
So far it looks like we need to consider finding a spot for Ed and Seth.
My daughter will be flying right seat with me! Sorry guys…
Thanks for the reply Jeff. I think I have found a solution.. I talked to Jeff E and I might buy his weedhopper off of him. When I see him next, I am going to ask if I could take it around the pattern to get a feel for it and see if he will let me fly it out to the BBQ. I have planned out that I would be bringing out some extra tanks of gas.. I talked to AJ yesterday and he said if I do fly the weedhopper there, he would be flying along my wing with me all the way there. I am trying to get this figured out. He also said that if I did, we would head out earlier than you guys because we will be flying alot slower
Seth – don’t jump too far ahead. The Weedhopper is done yet, so an exact time line isn’t setup for when it will be ready.
I still have to finish to completion, flight test, then put it up for sale. Since I know I’ll have to order a few more bolts and a shackle, I’m thinking it wont be flying before I leave for Oshkosh.
It will hopefully be ready before the BBQ, but no guarantees. Plus I would likely have you buy before you fly as ultralights are not insurable.
I recommend you develop plan B, which is to find a ride out there by car or plane.

Yes, way too early to plan that aircraft for any flight. My 2 cents.
Well I got some bad news.. It looks like I might not be able to make it to this one.. I was looking at my calendar and I have Boot Camp for ROTC that ends the 13th. I am hoping I will be home by then. I will keep you guys updated.

There are only a handful of guys with 2-seaters. Plus not all come to every event, or at least fly at every event.
Usually there is still a caravan of folks leaving at the same time via car. Not sure if the same is happening this time, but I would think so.
I am new and interested in joining your meeting at the Hard 8 BBQ. I will be coming from Ennis. If this would be a good time for a first meeting just let me know. I have had about 10 hours of front seat lessons in a Northwing 582 Trike but still need to do my solo in my Sabre Trike.

Well after talking to my dad, he decided that he wanted to go as well. So him and I are going to fly the RV8 there with you guys. see you all there this saturday at Propwash!
Sorry, but I probably will not be able to make the meeting. Hope to make the meeting next month if it is at Propwash. May give me some time to work on my trike.

Update: I can still go now but my dad decided not to go for some wierd reason.. I have to get a ride with someone by car or plane. I will be out at propwash later tonight then we can talk about it..
