Warning!

The FAA has issued an AD for users of mogas in aircraft. Do not use any fuel with an ethanol level greater than 10%.

UPDATE ON ETHANOL USE: According to the tech folks at California Power Systems and Leading Edge Air Foils, Rotax has recently approved ethanol in mixes of up to 10%. (that is what most of the fuel in the Metroplex is). Be sure you buy from a station that receives fuel often,(fast turnover) and don’t let it sit for months in the cans. Use it. The octane level will begin to drop and detonation can occur.

The nearest station to Propwash to get non-ethanol fuel is the Sanford Oil fuel depot in Decatur, TX. If you want to purchase fuel there you will need to get the fuel card from me. (Jeff Mountain)

God bless the EPA for screwing things up!

If you fly a light sport or standard GA airplane that requires 100LL then the closet airport to Propwash is likely Northwest Regional (52F).

More information on fuels to come shortly…
