DFW LITE FLYERS NEWS
January 25th, 2012
Our meeting on Jan.14th was small, but productive. We set some good goals for 2012.
We will stick to the basic plan of alternating fly-ins and fly-outs. Trevor Howell has volunteered to look for new destinations for our fly-outs.
We have decided to make some changes to our Pilot Proficiency Events. There will now be a $5 fee to participate. This money will be used to provide some very nice swag at the end of the year for our top competitors. David Morrow has volunteered to run this program. This is how we did it years ago.
Another thing in the works is to have some sort of extra educational activities/presentations at the meetings. In the past we’ve had members give weather seminars, and had outside speakers come in on all things aviation. If you have an idea or know of someone who can present to us, please let me know.
Also, I’m working on taking our membership on a tour of a DFW control tower, or FT. Worth Tracon. We did the Denton control tower a few years ago and I think that was a great experience for all. We have two new members. Roy Click, and Harold Hanna. Roy has a trike and will hangar at Propwash. Harold joined online and we did not get his info. Harold, please contact me.
Our next event will be Feb.11th, 10am. at Avis’s hangar at Propwash. We will have our Pilot Proficiency Events followed by a potluck lunch and a meeting. Bob Carson will show us a great program called VFR Com. Please bring a dish to share. Blue Skies………
