Top 3 EAA Chapter Websites
This year our site didn’t make the ranking for one of the top EAA websites. However, all the judging was happening while the site was super slow
Anyway, here are the top websites.
EAA Chapter Web Editor Awards went to Sylvia Pfeifle, Chapter 99, Vero Beach, Florida, first place; Rod Hatcher, Chapter 839 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, second place; and Tom Turnbull, Chapter 292, Independence, Oregon, third place.
We should review them and see what they have that is better and add to our site. One thing that really stuck out to me was the “speed” of loading pages on the #1 site. Thats hard to do, but they pulled it off.

The 8th Annual Great Southern Sonex Gathering will be held in Bryan, Texas, on November 6th (rain date Nov. 13th). We expect this year to be the best ever. There are several more sonex aircraft flying in the area and we are working on some interesting things for the event. Expect a lot of friendly people, great airplanes, flight demonstrations, rides, forums, good food and even door prizes. This is open to everyone so bring your family and friends.

Top 3 EAA Club Websites for 2009
We are always trying to make our website better. Most EAA clubs today have moved forward and created a custom website to represent themselves. I recently found that the EAA is keeping tabs on some of the top websites to rank them and showcase the best. Here is some information I gathered. Maybe we can be included some day!
————————————————-
The World Wide Web has opened a whole new way for us to communicate and connect with those who share similar interests. Many EAA Chapters have embraced this new technology and created their own Chapter web sites, allowing them to better serve the local member and the aviation community at large.
EAA members have always embraced new technology and the EAA Web Awards seek to recognize and encourage Chapters that have entered the cyber world.
Since 2000, the EAA Web Editor’s award honor excellence in utilizing this new communications tool.
