Grass Airstrip Caught On Fire!

I live on a private airport with my dad called StageCoach Hills Airpark (4TX2). While on my early morning jog along the runway this morning, I noticed that something was wrong on the South End of the runway. I started walking to the South End and I saw black grass everywhere from the end of the south end all the way up to the middle of the runway. I knew that it was not a grass fire because yesterday, it was cloudy and it was not windy.. I told the president of our neighborhood and he called the police so they could investigate it more. Sure enough, this was no incident. Late last night, a tresspasser, lit the runway on fire on purpose. We know this because the police found lighter fluid and a blow torch at the South End of the runway.. The crook was to stupid to take his stuff with him.. They have not found the person who did this yet but I will keep this updated..

Pitts Pedal Plane almost finished

The Pitts Pedal plane that I’ve been working on for a year and half is nearing completion. I just need to paint the wheel pants and I’ll be done! This WILL be at the upcoming September Pancake Breakfast. I won’t delay again.

I need to paint the wheel pants and add the pedals

Updated Photo. Almost done!

Not my plane, but what is should look like

Here are the wheel pants after being carved and sanded...awaiting paint.

Weedhopper coming to Propwash…

This week I will “finally” be transporting my weedhopper project to propwash. It’s pretty much done. I’m still down a few bolts, but my hope is that I can bring it out there and meet up with Jeff Mountain to get a few bolts, and have others take a good look at it to make sure everything is in line. The photos below don’t show a whole lot as the airplane doesn’t really look like an airplane without the wings installed.

What to put in a Rotax gear box

A few months ago this came up at our EAA meeting, but I forgot what the answer was from Rotax. What is the new recommended stuff to put in your Rotax Gear Box? I want to say it was GL5. Anyone know?
I need to put some in my gear box so I can fire up my 277. It’s mounted! So is the exhaust! pics coming soon.
